How did I survive 30 days of Facebook deletion

·174 words·1 min

It was really difficult to preventing myself from logging in again after I started 30 days grace period as I confirmed with Meta to delete my facebook account.

In fact, I had several instances of deleting Facbook account and reinstating it.

This time, it did not go that way.

So, the question is - what did I do to survive 30 days grace period of Facebook deletion?

The first and foremost thing is general disappointment with the content on Facebook. Secondly, I began to remain habituated to contact my family and friends by phone and messaging apps (WhatsApp and Viber - in my case). Thirdly, I have generally stopped doom scrolling also in other platforms like YouTube. And finally, I focused on 3 hobbies - hiking, reading, and gardening. Whenever I felt like I wanted to scroll to see Facebook feeds, I went to garden and did something.

I hope that my strategy may be considered as learning opportunity to those who want to delete social media accounts and make life better without them.
